Hakima
The most recent work from Bukjeh … a tribute to the wisdom of women in times of war.
Hakima , meaning Wise Woman in Arabic ,is a deeply moving performance by Bukjeh that honours the voices of mothers, survivors, and women who carry generations of memory in their bodies.
Blending poetry, music, acapella, and powerful personal testimony, Hakima brings together a team with roots across Africa and the Middle East. Their stories rise in harmony sometimes raw, sometimes sweet , but always true.
This is a performance shaped by love in the middle of loss.
By pain sung under war.
By strength passed through food, song, and the quiet resilience of mothers who kept going, even when everything else fell apart.
In Hakima, the audience is not just watching .. they are witnessing the love together.
What to expect:
- 🎙️ Four creatives on stage , poets, singers, truth-tellers.
- 🌍 Songs woven with percussion and live harmony.
- 🗣️ Stories of motherhood, war, displacement, and survival
Hakima is not about performance. It’s about presence.
It’s about sitting in the wisdom of women who have lived through it all — and are still singing.
