We are glad to invite you to join us at the last Bukjeh event of the year where we share Ahlan project findings with our collaborators and community.

Ahlan is a research project investigating the challenges that Muslim and Arab artists and communities face in creating, accessing, and engaging with art in Australia.

 On the day we have two-panel discussions to reflect on our Ahlan research with community members, religious leaders, artists and art leaders.

3:00pm We will welcome you with light Palestinian snacks and music by Bukjeh artists Camile Feghali and Meena Shamaly.

3:15 pm Bukjeh’s journey and the Welcome Project

3:30 First Panel: Community is the start.
Speakers : Aseel Tayah, Veronica Pardo, Ahmad Abu Shabana, Sheikh Alaa Elzokom, Meena Shamaly.

4:15 pm  A break – delicious refreshments and a performance.

4:45pm Second Panel: Who holds the keys.
Speakers: Mohammed Yassin, Susan Forrester, Jazeer Nijamudeen, Wejdan Shamala, Sarah Baarini.
