Hakaya of Home is more than a festival , it’s a living space for storytelling, culture, and community. Rooted in the voices of those who’ve had to leave home, carry it with them, or rebuild it from memory, Hakaya brings together people of all ages and backgrounds to share, listen, and create.
Hakaya of Home is a festival that brings together the stories we were told as children, the languages we still dream in, and the memories that survive war, migration, and silence. It’s a space for those who lost home, rebuilt it, or are still searching for it.
On this day, the air will fill with lullabies, laughter, the smell of spices, and the quiet strength of people who’ve made belonging a practice,every single day, you’ll find yourself wandering between stories in Arabic, English and other languages , each holding a piece of someone’s home.
You’ll taste food that carries generations of love. You’ll hear songs from places we can’t always return to, but never forget.
Hakaya of Home is an invitation — to sit together, to ask questions, to bring your own stories, and to feel what it means to belong.
