At Bukjeh, we believe that art and storytelling are acts of healing, a shared language we use to express our feelings, hopes and dreams. We believe that creativity is a vessel for joy, and that every child deserves the opportunity to experience this same sense of wonder and curiosity, no matter where they are in the world.

In this holy month, our hearts are heavy knowing that many Palestinian children in Gaza right now, will be fasting amongst the rubble of their homes and the absence of their loved ones. And so, in the face of this ongoing trauma, we are more determined than ever to bring as much joy, hope and art into the lives of these innocent kids in whatever way possible.

Our Ramadan campaign, “Healing Through Art” is a heartfelt invitation to pair Arabic-speaking creatives from all over the world, with the children of Gaza, through online singing, poetry, dancing, reading, painting, music and the like. We are currently connected with 800 kids who each have some kind of access to a phone and wifi, ready and waiting to virtually meet you! By offering your time, energy and your beautiful talents, you’ll help to bring genuine smiles, and happiness to these young innocent souls, reminding them that they are not alone, and they are definitely not forgotten.
