A few years ago, we dreamed of bringing an abundance of toys to the children of Palestine, so that they too could have the same access to safe places to play that so many of us take for granted. Together, with your overwhelming support and generosity, we turned that dream into a reality, establishing Toy Libraries across Gaza and the West Bank. These libraries were a life-changing gift for so many children, though sadly, most of them have since been completely destroyed by the war and ongoing genocide. But we refuse to give up! Every single child deserves the right to play, it is a fundamental part of their development, and so here we are, with the same dream, and an even bigger need than before!

These innocent children and their families have been traumatised beyond belief. Can a mother walk with her kids without losing one? Can she sing them soft lullabies, without the sounds of bombs taking over? With their homes left in pieces, how do the children play? Do toys become a luxury, when it’s already a daily struggle just to eat? This is their heartbreaking reality, and while we cannot change much, we can at the very least bring a bit of hope and imagination to these displaced communities.

“Let Us Play” is our new ambitious initiative to establish more toy libraries for Gazan children, both within Gaza and displaced in neighbouring Egypt. So if you’re wanting to help create safe havens for imagination, nurture and play, here are a number of ways you can be part of this dream!

GENEROUS SUPPORTERS – By donating, you’ll be helping us to purchase toys, furniture, shelving, paint, solar panels, building materials and everything else needed to bring a library to life!

TOY LIBRARY CHAMPIONS – Become a Toy Library Champion, and rally your local community, workplace and schools to donate toys. You’ll be a focal point, collecting toys both new and pre-loved, ones that are fun, educational and engaging. Once you’ve collected enough, you’ll get in contact with us, and we’ll help with the shipping! Perhaps you’ll organise a fundraising (or even a toy-raising) event too!

BIG DREAMERS – Become a Big Dreamer and organise a whole shipping container of toys from your city. Once landed in Egypt and Gaza, these containers will be transformed into vibrant libraries themselves, bringing laughter and vibrancy not only to the children inside the space, but spilling out across the community too!

MONTHLY SPONSORS – Once a Toy Library is built, you’ll generously donate regularly to sponsor a local Palestinian to run the space (but we’ll get to this later!)

Please note: We are starting this campaign during Ramadan, a sacred month for Muslims, because in doing so, we seek the blessings of Allah to guide and support our mission. Inshallah, we aim to start building mid-year, creating safe play spaces for those who need it most.
